GO CAPS Branson Medicine and Health Care strand is an engaging, hands-on experience that examines the dynamic and diverse field of medicine and health care. Through first-hand experiences, students gain exposure to many career paths and deepen their knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, patient care, physical assessment and treatment plans, disease processes, ethics, and professionalism. Students learn procedures and gain valuable hands-on experience with a variety of clinical skills while earning certification in CPR. Students are immersed in healthcare settings and learn from a variety of professionals through job shadows, tours, and expert guest instruction on a variety of topics and fields within medicine and health care. Students are also able to think critically, creatively, and work collaboratively with mentors on real health care projects and develop a focused, self-selected project within their area of passion that is real, relevant, and of service to healthcare and the community.
